Children at the age of about six or seven (the age of chinuch) should start washing their hands in the morning. However, a person who begins washing a baby’s hands, a boy from the day of his bris milah or a girl from that age as well, is doing a holy act, and it is a segula for the child to grow up in tahara and kedushah.
