Welcome to Zichron Nosson Tzvi’s Shabbos kollel. From erev Shabbos until Motzei Shabbos, these avreichim have accepted upon themselves to learn at least two hours and fifteen minutes in shul, as a group. The kollel begins fifteen minutes before minchah on erev Shabbos and continues on Shabbos day and Motzei Shabbos for two hours. The shul offers a generous stipend to all members who would like to join the Shabbos kollel.

The kollel was started by two active members of the shul, R’ Lazer Fisher and R’ Yechiel Munk, and is led under the auspices of our esteemed rav, Rabbi Weiner. The kollel began on Purim of 2013 where anyone who joined to learn for two hours on Purim in shul received a generous stipend.

Seeing the success the kollel had then, R’ Lazer and R’ Yechiel took upon themselves the responsibility of running a kollel during summer bein hazmanim. This, too, was a tremendous success, and it wasn’t long before they extended the same concept to every Shabbos.

The impact that the kollel has had on the tzibbur has literally revolutionized the shul. There is no greater connection that can be made with a tzibbur other than through Torah. The kollel has turned Zichron Nosson Tzvi from being not only a makom tefillah, but also a makom Torah, as well.
